Magic Mountain is a privately owned, family operated company.
Construction of the park started on August 12, 1986. More than 600 construction workers came together to complete the park in less than a year. Magic Mountain opened its doors on June 26, 1987.
The park came under new ownership and management in 1999. Since that time, numerous additions and improvements have been made. In 2002, the Tornado slide opened. Twist and Shout were added in 2005, and ProRacer in 2006. Magic Mountain is now the largest man-made attraction in Atlantic Canada.
More than 800,000 gallons of water are needed to fill all the pools and attractions. Large pumps circulate the water, which is filtered and cleaned continually by a series of extensive micro-filtration systems and automated chemical feeders. Test readings are made several times each day to ensure that the water is always clear and safe. Propane-driven heaters with a total capacity of 8.6 million BTUs are used to heat the water.
The park hires approximately 150 people every summer. A wide variety of positions are available from maintenance and landscaping to certified lifeguards and park attendants. For more employment information, please click here.
We look forward to seeing you at Magic Mountain!
